Mason "Mace" Patrick Fisher was the Hephaestus' burly, taciturn engineer[1] on Lovelace's crew. He did not go to university, instead enlisting in the Air Force where he achieved the rank Warrant Officer. He then worked for Goddard Futuristics for about six months before the start of the Hephaestus mission. He had a boyfriend named Corey, who was very concerned about his safety because of research he did into space station mutinies.
Fisher was the first of the crew to die. On day 393 of the mission, a meteor shower hit while he was doing maintenance on the outside of the station, killing him.
He is most likely named after Ronald Fisher, a 20th century mathematician known for doing foundational work in statistics.
